4.0 Water leak HELP
Hello I am new here. I have an 03 Ranger with a 4.0. I have developed a water leak that I can not find. I have thrown money at by replacing the water pump, thermostat, and the hoses. My leak is in the front upper section of the engine. I can see anti freeze but I can not find the leak. There is what appears to be a temp sensor on the top of the motor. Has anyone had this problem and know where the leak may be coming from?

Center Console
I want to put a console that I can actually store things in. Is there a way that the flip-up center console from an older ranger will fit in my 2007? Are they all mounted about the same bc it seems like it. I found a 2004 console on eBay and wanted to find out more before inquiring.

97' ranger won't idle cold (sometimes) ?
I purchased a 97 ranger 2wd XLT standard cab 5 speed manual last January for $1100.
truck has some dents but no rust with 128,000 miles on it. previous owner had many new parts installed. new exhaust from headers back, o2 sensors (bad news bosh sensors), MAF sensor, Fuel pump and sending unit, and IAC. since i bought it i replaced quite a bit, New leaf spring hangers and bushings, coolant temp sensor (more bad news all they had was valucraft), TPS (airtex and wells), Thermostat, U-joints, complete re-gasket of upper engine due to leaking valve cover (valve cover, lower intake, fuel injector O-rings, upper intake, egr, throttle body, and iac gaskets) the entire re-gasket i did because on rock auto a valve cover gasket alone was $10 and a (fel-pro) kit was $17).
Now sometimes i can go out and it starts and runs on it's own fine, other times i go out and it immediately stalls i have to rev the engine for 10-15 sec then i have to hold the idle manually for 1-2 min then it's fine. it runs fine when warm (but has some hesitation in low rpm can floor it it does nothing till about 2000 RPM then launches like it should) but other than that it runs good climbs hills fine no stalling.
From what i've read (I believe on this site) the hesitation is due to fuel pressure so i'm gonna head up to the autozone and rent a fuel pressure gauge, I believe i need to have 30-35 PSI correct me if i'm wrong.

95 Ranger replacing Driver airbag
My driver airbag went off the other day. Front end collision. Trucks good. Nothing wrong but the airbag. How do I replace it? Do I just need the airbag itself and plug it in? Or is there a electronic crash sensor? Can't find my year online. Just newer models. Thanks in advance!

engine starts then sputters n dies
The other day i drove my truck over 60 miles to work on the hyway...left the lights on so got a jump, and went to lunch. It ran fine on the lunch run. About 4 hrs later ( the temperature had dropped significantly) i began my journey home. About 10 mins later while still on city roads it sputtered and check engine light came on. It drove okay for a few mins but then wanted to stall whenever i came to a light. I got on the hyway then it began sputtering intermittently with the engine light going off for a few seconds then back on...then. i couldnt get it to go over 40 mph. I finally nursed it to the next exit and towed it home. When i looked under hood i noticed the upper radiator was rock hard??? Help please

engine trouble
after a recent resurrection of my truck, i ran into some more problems, my truck doesnt stay idling after it has been off for a while, the engine also searches while idling if it doesnt stall. ive already cleaned the IAC and MAS, im planning on replacing the fuel filter and spark plugs when i wont be at risk freezing my hands to the frame. the tranny also needs a band adjustment, so any ideas on what it could be

fuel pump questions.
Pulled my fuel pump, tested it with 12v, thing turns on. Tested my relay that's fine as well. Im gonna test continuity in the lines once i get some day light tomorrow but if those are fine and im getting continuity in all the wires what else would stop my fuel pump from kicking on? i don't have a pressure gauge to test the fuel line but i dont think that could help since the pump itself isnt turning on. I'm at a loss and i could use your wisdom guys.

The no-name conversation
So I've been a long time lurker. Posted here and there occasionally but for the most part I've been on the outskirts and tried to glean what I need. I finally decided to come out of the shadows a bit. This ranger is by far the smallest truck I've ever owned and it's been a bit of a learning experience. My first was an '87 Bronco on 35's. Owned and beat the crap out of it for nearly a decade. Then I switched things up and bought a '72 Cougar. After that was the '94 F-150. Actually for a short time I owned all 3 at the same time. Sold the Bronco and Cougar, started college, then realized that $20 a day in gas was killing me so I traded the F-150 for the Ranger.
WARNING: NOT PIC HEAVY!
So, on to the meat and potatoes. On the lot the Ranger sat bone stock aside from a color matched fiberglass Leer canopy. At the time I had no use for and nowhere to store a canopy so I sold it (stupid!). I picked it up with 180 k on the stock 4.0. I didn't believe the odometer, it was way too clean for that many miles. The only mod I made when I first got it was to install my deck, amp, and subs. It stayed that way for about a year, just being my DD and dirtbike hauler. Eventually I started to modify it further by removing the silencer tube from the intake box, cranked to t-bars and installed 285/75r16 Toyo M/Ts and plasti-dipped the wheels and top of the hood. Didn't like the hood so I took that off. Ran a cab guard for a while. I got stuck on the snow on a snow day with my son so I decided to install the Ramsey 8k winch I've been hoarding for years. I had to remove or cut up my lower valance to fit it so I just took it off. It was like that for another year or so.
Chapter 3:
The latest round has come about since I quit riding and sold my bike. Bought an aluminum canopy off C/L and painted it black. Just recently I've added 3" shackles (rear springs are sacked out), ever so slightly turned up aftermarket keys and 2" extended Ranchos up front and a 6k HID conversion (forgot to consult the forum before that last one). Sitting in the garage waiting are MOOG uca's, Powerstop cross drilled and slotted rotors and HD towing pads, rear shocks, camber bolt kit, 40" LED bar, and a couple old sets of 6x9 KC Daylighters. Other future plans include a swing out tire carrier, a brush guard or front bumper build, some skid plating, wheels and a bump up to either 305/70r16s or 33x12.50r15s.

need help!
i have a 2001 3.0 ford ranger. i have replaced the water pump, fan clutch, alternator, power steering pump, and belt tensioner . the water pump has failed 3 times. third time i bought a brand new motor craft water pump and fan clutch. every time i have replaced pumps i have replaced the belt also. i keep getting a chirping sound from the belt. the belt seems very tight. its very hard to get it on and off with the tensioner pulled all the way down. ive got some kind of issue that keeps killing pumps. anyone have any ideas? i thought it was the tensioner but even after replacing it there was no change.

89 ranger slip yoke transfer case problem
My transfer case has cracked and i am looking for a replacement. It is a Borg warner 1350 electric shift, with slip yoke on the front shaft. Seems like I can only find ones with a fixed front yoke. All the salvage yards don't differentiate slip vs fixed. Is it possible to change the front driveshaft to one with a fixed yoke end, in order to accommodate the different transfer case?

how freely should the wheels spin?
i just did my drivers side front hub and there seems to be alot of resistance rotating the rotor. i'm used to 2wd cars that spin fairly freely (maybe a full rotation to a turn and a quarter) so i'm assuming that i'm spiining the axle assembly. i do see the half shaft rotating, but how much should the rotor spin when the truck is jacked up? i get zero now and expected maybe a half rotation of the rotor. the rear seems to be the same as well with the shoes properly adjusted. any advice or opinions appreciated.

check engine and abs lights
Have a 99 ranger with 217k and am just now having problems with it. My abs light came on at 211k and won't go off. Check engine light comes on occasionally, brake light comes on when I'm stopping and turns on when I go. Also my speedometer doesn't work til I hit 40mph as well as my odometer. Any idea on what's going on?

HELP.. A/C and Engine Problem
Hi, new to the ranger forums..
I have an 02, 2.3lt ranger that recently had a whole Air conditioner system put into it by the FORD Dealership of North County San Diego. Anyways when I got my truck back a month later I noticed that when the A/C is on the car losses a little power of course and runs like it should. When the A/C is off the car will gain about 100 RPM and then drop back to normal every couple of seconds. Also it happens when in any gear I'm in and is annoying when I'm in first because you can feel it the most.
Can anyone please help me diagnose this issue?
