I'm interested in installing a front hitch on a 94 XLT 4x4 with the 4.0. I ordered a Curt 31063 based on a fit guide, but when I hold it in place to mount it, I don't see how it is going to work. The directions that came with the hitch say that it doesn't fit vehicles with a cross member. Has anyone figured out which cross member they are talking about? I'll attempt to attach a picture of mine. Mine has a large steel piece that is welded to the main frame members.![]()

If that's not a cross member, I don't know what is- but then there are some other threads that seem to imply that folks are thinking that the instructions are referring to a different cross member.
So is there something that I'm not seeing about how to make the 31063 fit, and if not has anyone found a bolt-on option for a front hitch that will fit my truck?
