Some of you may know me, most of you probably don't. I love to lurk, and have mainly used this forum for tech.

But now I feel it's time to contribute a little through my truck, so here we go.

2003 Ford Ranger Edge Supercab 4Dr
-3.0 V6
-USED to be an automatic, but now rocks an M5OD
-8.8 w/4.10's

Plenty of things have been done to this truck since I bought it in 2003. The short list is:

-4" lift via Spindles and Bastard Leaves
-33's
-15x10 Cragar Soft 8's
-Code "1" torsion bars
-20% tint
-Headlight Mod
-Cargo Light mod
-Explorer Sport seats
-Shorty console
-06+ Mirrors
-Grabber Blue Edge decals
-Factory step bars
-Etc.

But the single handed most important mod I did to this truck was ditching the automatic that I blew sky high for an M5OD manual. I went for the "OEM" style swap, so everything is as if the truck originally had a manual. EVERYTHING that had anything to do with the automatic is gone. I even wired in the clutch safety switch, and swapped engine/trans wiring harnesses. Special thanks to Shane, Stone, and Trey, for all of their direct and indirect help with the swap.

So here's my truck at the beginning, and now:

2010:

2014:

And just for fun, some automatic trans carnage:

All of which was remedied with:

So now that pretty much brings us to present day.

By now you probably realize that my truck is two wheel drive. Well, I'm tired of 4x2, so it's 4x4 swap time.

Picked this stuff up today from a Sport Trac.

Over the next few weeks I'll be collecting parts for the swap. I'm fairly certain I'll be doing the swap in a two part manner. Front axle, knuckles, CV's, rotors and bearing assemblies first, and then transmission and transfer case later. I just did the M5OD swap in March, and am not looking forward to pulling that trans again. Not to mention that finding a 2001+ 3.0 M5OD 4x4 isn't exactly easy. Neither is finding a 1354M.

I plan to run a 1354M eventually, but may have to settle for a 1354E with one of those little dinky shifster things. I highly doubt I'll settle for a 1350, even though I can get those all day long.

I'm not too worried about collecting all the Level II stuff like the RCM plate, extension housing, and etc. I'll probably make my own floor plate, and make a bracket for the shift linkage and just use a regular extension housing. But if I can find a good deal on the Level II stuff, I might still go that route.

I think that's enough bs for now. I'll try my best to update whenever I can so this doesn't turn into one of those "well what the heck ever happened" threads.
