My 2006 Ford Ranger started making a squeaking sound, which I assumed was under the hood. I took it to our mechanic and his workers looked at it while they were changing the oil and fluids and said it was the starter. He said there were little brushes in the starter that will make that sound, but should eventually wear off and the sound should go away. SAY WHAT? So I'm happy that it's not going to be a big $$$ repair. So today I get in it to go vote and it does the squeaking but it's louder. And while my husband and I were sitting in the truck we hear this sound much like someone hitting the side of the truck with their hand real hard and I have the truck in park with the motor running. Strange, I know. So I take the truck back up to the mechanic and they look it over real well and tell me they can't see anything going on. I'm getting upset because I have to drive 35 miles to visit my new grandbaby and I don't particularly want to get stuck on the interstate. Can someone, anyone tell me what they think.
