Bed Liner

I have seen a lot of people that put bed liner on their rocker panels and bumpers, but have never seen it done on something like the plastic factory fender flares and the bumper valence. I was wanting to put bed liner on mine since they're all pitted and want something a little tougher than regular paint and something that will also help cover up some surface imperfections and be resistant to minor scratches. How do you guys think that the bed liner will hold up on plastic, and also what brand/type would you go with? Bed armor/rustoleum? rattle can/roll on? etc. Thanks
